Pilates mat class

This dynamic, all-level Pilates mat class will tone & balance your muscles, increase stability and strength in your joints, and release those tight tweaks in your body. All the while, you'll maintain proper biomechanics to help keep you aligned & injury free. Different props may be used in the class, such as balls, pilates rings, and bands.

Beginner Reformer Class

This class is designed for new clients, clients coming back to pilates after an injury, clients currently working through injury or clients that feel that this is the best class for their needs. In this class students will be learning exercises on the  pilates reformer that are appropriate for this level. It will be challenging and fun with focus on core stability, strength and flexibility.

jumpboard cardio sculpt clasS

Tuesday's at 4:30 pm and Friday's at 7:30 am
This class will get your heart pumping! It will be using the jumpboard as well as various props such as BOSU's TRX, weights, therabands, Pilates Wunda Chair and Tower. Each class will be slightly different every week! Some reformer experience is required. This class will be a great workout!

Aerial yoga CLASS 

Available by request only
Aerial yoga combines traditional yoga poses with the use of a fabric hammock. Aerial yoga defies gravity and allows you to perform various yoga postures that might be difficult on the ground or ones that you are working towards  a little easier a foot off the ground.
Aerial yoga benefits your whole body, relives stress, improves flexibility and strength, distresses your low back and spine and puts you in a good mood!

Intermediate Reformer Class

Tuesday's at 8:30 am and Thursdays at 7:30am
This class is for individuals that have moved on from the beginner exercises and are ready for intermediate exercises. Intermediate exercises will build on the beginner exercises but new combinations and dynamic movement patterns are added to create a more challenging workout. A focus on correct body alinement will help you flow seamlessly from now movement to the next. This level will certainly keep you moving and challenged.

BEGINNER/Intermediate reformer class

This class is for individuals that have moved on from a beginner class and are ready for intermediate exercises. Intermediate exercises are chosen while increased repetitions, combinations, and dynamic movement patterns are added to create a more challenging workout. A focus on correct body alignment will help you flow seamlessly from one movement to the next. This level will certainly keep you moving and challenged.

pilates for men

Monday's at 4:30 pm
Pilates was started by a man, Joseph Pilates,  it's been a training vehicle for elite athletes, both men and women, for over 50 years; and men have figured prominently as instructors. Now Men have a class of their own at Scarborough Pilates!
Pilates is great for core strength, to increase flexibility and is great for cross-training with other sports or exercise! This class will be using the pilates reformer as well as other pilates props.

pilates for osteoporosis

This class will be geared for anyone who is dealing with any kind of osteoporosis or osteopenia or anyone looking to increase bone density. This class will help strengthen bones and muscles, help improve your posture, your body alignment and balance. It is a full body workout that will be safe for those with osteoporosis. In this class a variety of equipment will be used, light weights, bands, and the pilates reformer.

Pilates for SKiers/Riders/X-skiers

Starting in November
This class will focus on getting your legs and hips, torso ready for hitting the slopes all weekend without getting too fatigued or overusing your muscles. Pilates is a great cross-training tool for prevent of overuse injuries on the slopes. This class will focus on core strength, stretching and strengthening of quads and hip flexors as well as strengthening hamstrings and inner thighs, and  proper alignment. You can sign up for all 8 weeks of the class or 4 weeks or drop in when you can.

Pilates Lunchtime Power Workout

This class will start again in the spring

This class will be 50 mins of pilates that will use a variety of the pilates equipment. Reformer, Tower, Chair and Mat work. Also can be used in the class  might be TRX, Bosu's, Foam Rollers, Magic Rings, Therabands and Balls. Come get your workout in during your lunch and feel better for the rest of the day!
